Employee Well-Being

It is clear from the Listening Sessions that the challenges of the pandemic over the last three years have had a significant negative impact on employee well-being. Many of these themes were also reflected in responses received in the statewide Employee Well-Being Survey issued in late November 2022.  The Employee Well-Being Working Group is poring over the 1,600+ responses received on the statewide survey to discern key themes and develop concrete recommendations for ways the Judicial Department can support the well-being of its employees.  In the meantime, the Working Group is also identifying all existing well-being resources available to judicial officers and employees to consolidate those resources in one location for easy reference.

In July 2023, the Well-Being Working Group issued a report to all employees  with an overview of the themes derived from the November survey. The group also disseminated a flyer with QR codes and links to a collection of employee well-being resources on the Judicial Well-Being website, and IT deployed an desktop icon on all employee desktop computers linking directly to those resources.  The group has also made recommendations to the Steering Committee to form a branch-wide Task Force to explore flexible work principles and best practices with a goal of identifying possible changes to flexible work policies, and a recommendation to establish a branch wide Employee Well-Being Committee.  The Supreme Court is expected to take action on those recommendations this summer.
